The interaction between the newborn baby and their parents are of vital significance for the child’s later development. This conference will present methods of empowering parents, experience of guidance and new research.
The focus will be:
- What does the child tell us?
- How to support the child’s ability to interact?
- What promotes the child’s own movement?
- The importance of the relational in the guidance of parents.
- To balance between helping and assessing.
The concept of relation, culture and context are important elements in the lectures. English will be the official language on the conference, but with a parallel Norwegian series of lectures.
The research community at University-hospital of Northern Norway, UNN and the University in Tromsø, UiT are arranging the conference 14th and 15th of October 2010.
The research community is founded in both research and clinical work with newborn and toddlers at the Division of Child & Adolescent Health Services, Department of Pediatric at UNN, is multidisciplinary with physical therapists, pediatricians, child psychologists and pediatric nurses.
The conference is a collaboration of professionals in the Northern Norway. |
